Dr. Annette Ermshar along with Dr. Morgan Sammons (CEO of the National Register of Health Service Psychologists in DC) and colleagues presented at the 2014 California Psychological Association National Conference. The presentation was titled “Ethical, Legal and Practice Implications of Recent Developments in Psychopharmacology for Psychologists”. The conference session discussed the developments in legal, political, and ethical aspects of psychologists prescribing in light of enabling legislation in Illinois. Practical and ethical challenges of ACA-driven expansions of psychopharmacological services to children and adolescents were discussed. The presentation also covered developments in neuroscience mandating changed in psychologists’ training and competence.
